Haliburton County

Haliburton County is located in north central Ontario, east of Toronto, and was named for Nova Scotian politician Thomas Chandler Haliburton. The County was first created in 1874. The area was originally composed of 23 townships and several other localities, a number which have merged over time . The seat of government is in Minden.

There have been at least 20 communities where railway stations have been established in Haliburton County since the first railway arrived to the area. Below is an overview of each. Documented surviving stations in Haliburton County include Haliburton and Howland Junction.
